[Edit]The final System album of the 1980s lacked the definitive grooves or celebratory energy of its hit predecessor. The Murphy/Frank team had written and/or produced so many hits that it seemed they'd never lose their touch, but just as suddenly, their techno-funk got lost in the transition as urban contemporary embraced hip-hop flavored productions, dancehall, and New Jack, while dance music splintered into various techno directions, and such things as hip-house were the rage.
