Details
[Edit]Classic rock radio was an interesting idea until its listeners started to wonder where new music would come from. Every once in a while a young band would show up that sounded pre-fitted for the format; thus Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, and even Hootie & The Blowfish landed themselves a spot on the dial in the '90s. But it's been a bit trickier in the 21st century, as the format has aimed to update itself every decade to stay in line with its key demographics. Now having a late-'70s and '80s sound has become more acceptable, and new bands have been allowed to stretch their guitars toward Foreigner-like AOR or nearer to Wilco/Jayhawks-like Americana. Austin's Wild Feathers relocated to Nashville and went for the latter definition of "classic rock." With their organ-to-guitar wall of rock, they recall Tom Petty's Heartbreakers and Wilco with touches of The Jayhawks, as "Backwoods Company," "I Can Have You," "I'm Alive," and "Got It Wrong" immediately suggest.
