With honesty, clarity and poppy melodic hooks, the Seattle siblings grapple with issues of acceptance, same-sex relationships, justice, coming out, freedom, equal rights and world peace. Best tracks here are "Woman of the Third Wave" and "Gay Nineties." The wonderful acoustic guitar work of sister Janie is showcased on her contributions while keyboardist Jamie explores synth-pop grooves on his compositions, and that's what works best about this release: it is the ultimate in inclusion. The gay male and lesbian/feminist viewpoints exist side by side as well as merge, and this formula is what it's all about: coming together as brothers and sisters.
