[Edit]This release on the abstract electronica label Mille Plateaux is an outstanding experimental release from the highly regarded ambient composer Thomas Köner. The German artist has worked extensively in minimalist sound studies as well as being one half of the astounding techno duo Porter Ricks. With this release, he has created another landmark in the vein of his previous double CD, Permafrost. Extended drones and deep, textured harmonics culminate in a listening experience that can be overwhelming and powerful. A highly recommended release for fans of experimental electronica, this release surpasses the definitions of ambient music — a sublime study in sound.
