From Prince to Lenny Kravitz, John Legend to Amy Winehouse, Bloom's influences are as diverse as the list of his past collaborators. "Stand in the Way (Of My Love)" is a roiling midtempo number featuring tinkled ivories, while "My Diamond" nods to Santana with its Latin rhythm and distorted guitars. "Future" is an earnest ballad kicked off by acoustic guitar strumming. Timothy Bloom is a richly arranged, astutely written collection from this promising young talent.
