Details
[Edit]Thierry Robin does not appear to be that well-known outside of France. You can hear and feel the gypsy heart and passion in his music, yet there is an originality and a "modernity" that goes far beyond the gypsy music you usually hear. This is not to belittle other gypsy musicians (absolutely not) but simply to say that Robin's gypsy music, on this CD at least, is striking and fascinating. Singing in a few different languages, the influences of his music are diverse, fusing styles from many different musical backgrounds — Spanish, Arabian, and more, as is common for gypsy musicians. His voice is raucous yet captivating. ~ Bruno Deschênes, Rovi
