irreverent sense of comedy likened to Dave Attell's, the NYC-based Todd Barry has a sideways sense of humor unlike any other comedian. He deliberately sets up his bits with traditional frameworks before pulling totally unpredictable punchlines out from the ether. Barry’s fourth audio recording, Super Crazy, opens with self-deprecating humor about the hit-and-miss (mostly miss) life of a touring, middle-aged comedian and the weirdos who orbit his world on the road. Barry cleverly jabs at topical comics—by busting ridiculously topical jokes before admitting that he'd like to visit Thailand, but how creepy it is for a man in his 40s to say he wants to legitimately travel to Thailand alone? Other highlights include a sidesplitting take on how unfortunate it was to realize that he’s not just a germaphobe, but a lazy germaphobe. Barry specializes at honing in on the generation gap—his observations about young and old people interacting on Facebook are worth the price of admission.
