Details
[Edit]The bulk of the material on Twang from the Grave dates back two decades and catches you up with Atlanta psychobilly stalwarts the Tombstones. Largely presented in lo-fi, the 11 tracks here are an amalgam of punk, pop, rockabilly, Southern rock, and country with mostly solid results. At the helm, guitarist/frontman Steve Tombstone comes off as some twisted fusion of Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Stiv Bators, and Lux Interior on blistering thumpers like "Dark as a Dungeon" and "Jailhouse Tattoo." It's hard not to imagine tear-streaked eyeliner in the wake of the somber "No-Body," and while less poignant, the whiskey-addled, nicotine-stained charge of "Likkered Up" is downright inspired. The song quality isn't exactly the best, but Twang from the Grave is incendiary stuff for fans of the aforementioned. Rock on, creeps. ~ John D. Luerssen, Rovi
