Not the best, but certainly not the worst of salsa bandleader's Tommy Olivencia's best-of compilations, Pura Salsa is a collection of 14 songs, most of which have been included on numerous other albums. "Lo Dudo," "Lobo Domesticado," "Como Sube la Gasolina," and "Como Lo Hacen" can all be found here, and the sound quality is very good. Surprisingly, there are also a few lesser-known tracks that make appearances on Pura Salsa, including "Cosas Nativos," "No Tieres la Primera Piedra," and the great and harder-to-find "Los Golpes EnseƱan." Though there's not the selection seen on many other releases, those aforementioned inclusions alone almost make Pura Salsa a more appealing choice, but for fans who want to hear "Anita Tun Tun," "Como una Estrella," or "Te Estoy Estudiando," it's probably better to look elsewhere.
