Details
[Edit]Worst Enemies was originally issued on the Sunflower label, but remastered and reissued by Ozit after it was discovered that the original pressing was subject to CD rot. The rescue was essential, too. A rare snapshot of Tractor in 1973, Worst Enemies includes several of the duo's most ambitious recordings, including the epic "Lost on the Ocean," "No More Rock'n'Roll" and "Argument for One"." The chief attraction, however, is the 21-minute, five-song "Peterloo Massacre" suite, recorded for inclusion on what would have been Tractor's third album, had their label, Dandelion, not folded before work was complete. Certainly one of the strongest things Tractor ever recorded, and a piece of English folk-rock that is at least comparable to Fairport Convention's similarly historical Babbacombe Lee, the suite stands among the most ambitious pieces of music in the entire '70s folk canon. One can only imagine the effect it might have had, had it only been released when it was meant to be!
