Trial of the Bow creates a transfixing Middle Eastern-styled experimental world music that will appeal to Dead Can Dance fans. The Australian duo wields not only the trusty bass and guitar, but the e-bow, Tibetan singing bowl, tabala, hammered dulcimer and more. The vision is mostly dark, but not sanguine. Rite Of Passage is ambient, experimental music with hints of fangs. There are apparently no electronic instruments on this recording, creating a warm, human feel. A medieval feel can be ascertained from a couple of the tracks.
