By the late '90s, Seattle "supergroup" Truly had already issued a few strong yet overlooked releases — especially their one and only recording for Capitol, Fast Stories from Kid Coma. It turns out that at the time of the aforementioned album's release, there was a major shakeup at the label, which resulted in only two rock acts getting the proper push — Radiohead and the newly launched Foo Fighters. Although understandably disappointed, the members of Truly returned back to an indie, and managed to soldier on for one more release, 1997's Feeling You Up. And once more, the trio handed in an incredibly solid album, which easily could have fit into MTV and rock radio play lists at the time, if both outlets weren't so obsessed with Limp Bizkit and Everclear. Interestingly, the group's sound has little in common with either Screaming Trees or Soundgarden, as evidenced by the trippy pop ditty "Air Raid," while musically, "EM7" sounds like it was straight off of Television's Marquee Moon. Truly certainly went out on a high note with Feeling You Up — it's a shame that the record-buying public failed to reward them.
