[Edit]Longtime producers with lengthy resumés in hip-hop's grimier underworld, Stu Bangas and Vanderslice are well known and respected among seasoned heads with an affinity for sample-driven beatscapes. Though your average fan of radio rap hasn't heard of them, they've been very busy over the last decade or so, collaborating with a diverse roster of subterranean emcees. Heavily influenced by loop rockers like DJ Premier and The Alchemist, their sound is unabashedly raw, dark, and aggressive, while still maintaining the funk. On Diggaz with Attitude, they enlist a rogue's gallery of primarily East Coast lyricists—including Blaq Poet, Roc Marciano, Ill Bill, Blacastan, Planet Asia, Apathy, Vinnie Paz, Reef the Lost Cauze, and Evidence—to complement the intense instrumentals. Neckbreaking drums, thunderous bass lines, chopped pianos, and guitar snippets dominate the production, topped with a unending torrent of bold and brash wordplay.
