Volume 6 of this winning series is again crammed with ironic (and unironic) covers of contemporary hits. Modern punk heroes Tyler Carter and Luke Holland take Paramore’s comment on modern life (“Ain’t It Fun”) for a sardonic spin. We Came as Romans replace dubstep with punk slams and gang vocals on Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Palisades turn Pharrell Williams’ soul-pop hit “Happy” into a sugar-punk sing-out. Oceans Ate Alaska unload max masculinity on Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love,” rendering the tune nearly unrecognizable while doubling the fun. Knuckle Puck wrench fist-pumping melancholy from The 1975’s inescapable “Chocolate.”
