Almost a counterpart to 2002's Tracks, which covers Vasco Rossi's work for EMI after 1989, Tutto Vasco surveys Rossi's first decade, from 1979's Che Cosa Vuoi Che Sia una Canzone to 1987's C'è Chi Dice No. Boasting 32 songs to Tracks' 24, and arguably much stronger albums to choose from, Tutto Vasco should get the nod in a direct comparison. A great compendium of Rossi's early work, this double set is full of absolute classics such as "Albachiara," "Vita Spericolata," "Bollicine," "Siamo Solo Noi," "Vado al Massimo," "Colpa d'Alfredo," "Brava Giulia," and many more. Still, it cannot be considered a definitive anthology, for even if Rossi's later albums were not as strong as before, these invariably continued to produce hits, such as "Sally" and "Ti Prendo e Ti Porto Via," all missing from this collection.
