Details
[Edit]As methodically as Aaron Funk attempts to dirty his productions, they still exist as intensely clinical monsters of programming finesse. Funk's twelfth (!) record for Planet Mu, Filth has ten tracks of manic glitchcore that positively gallop along, with beats running at quicktime while Funk throws all manner of distorted synth, detuned samples, and colliding breakbeats at a pace that's capable of provoking motion sickness. Aside from the usual displays of accomplishment, "Chainsaw F******o" stands out, beginning with some pounding hardcore but later detouring into a batch of impressive clapping techno-funk. It's hardcore breakbeat that's not cartoonish, experimental techno that entertains but also rewards closer listening, and music that confirms Funk's standing at the top of the IDM/breakcore crowd.
