Details
[Edit]Originally recorded in 1977 and given a sonic update in 1994, A Taste of Honey shows another side of the early Toronto punk scene. Bits and pieces of this material made its way out to the world on singles and EPs before this CD compilation brought it back to the world, prompting leader Steven Leckie to resurrect the band again. Like much of the recorded punk canon, it's hard to see why the band caused such a stir, because it just sounds like good, solid rock & roll (blame Nirvana for making naked, punk aggression part of the mainstream). Nevertheless, this was the real raw deal when it was first recorded, and should stand as a good reminder of what the Toronto scene had to offer back when the punk scene was still fresh and dangerous.
