Visor is a side project of members of Koln's experimental electronic scene associated with the Karaoke Kalk label, and is comprised of Jens Massel (Kandis, Motel), Jorg Follert (Saucer, Motel), and Tom Steinle (Kaki-Pakt, Meta Jazz). This brief CD-only release (technically credited to the Tom label, though close enough to Karaoke Kalk to be largely the same difference) is a warm, chalky run through atmospheric electro-acoustics, combining resonant bass tones with droning synths and bits of guitar, piano, and percussion. Both wonderfully abstract and immediately graspable, Visor is a soundtrack-y mediation on slow, repeating figures suggestive of early Brian Eno or recent Mouse On Mars.
