[Edit]VOTA singer/guitarist Bryan Oleson returns with a new band lineup to deliver Love Found Me, an appealing collection of faith-centered rockers and ballads. The current incarnation of this veteran combo boasts strong songwriting and a genre-mixing approach that draws on both ‘60s and ‘80s influences. Oleson has a knack for dealing with Christian topics from an Everyman perspective: “Keep Me Where You Are” and “Lift Me Up” deal with the challenges of spiritual commitment in real-life terms. The joys of parenthood (“Learning to Dream”) and a family man’s restlessness (“Show Me What I Got”) complement worship tunes like “God of the Universe” and “You Alone.” The music is a zesty blend of guitar heroics and electronica grooves, also veering into the stark acoustic testimony of the title track and the crunchy, Kinks-like rock of “Blame Me.” Love Found Me suggests that VOTA’s wider discovery is long overdue.
