[Edit]As you can tell from the title, this is a German group from Düsseldorf. You expect screaming punk/hardcore, yet the vocals (in English) are melodic pop-punk crooning. That's just the first expectation World Collapse defies, teeth bared. Their dress is more "serious young men" school of original German Krautrock — long ties, overcoats, natty suspenders, comb-overs — perfect for "The Void," which taps into their homeland's claustrophobic electro-pop heritage. And is that a post-punk drum machine on "Into the Night" closer to Tears for Fears' "Shout" than Agnostic Front? And piano and synths? How about serious metal-hardcore on "Aftermath," again with nicer vocals? (Though earlier, there's a death-metal grunting sequence.) This quartet takes any pigeonhole and rips it up in your face, with intensity.
