[Edit]Yambu is a competent if nonessential effort by New York music teachers. One track, "Hippopatamus," is listed as "Brazilian Hustle"; it is the one funky, period instrumental (with waka-waka guitar) disc jockeys might find briefly interesting. Overall it lacks the spark of similar albums by travelling musicians who have paid more of their dues. In its favor, however, it belongs more to the previous era than to the nascent disco scene of 1975. And it has very curious jacket art. In short, it's very good Latin with a touch of funk but not enough soul.
