Details
[Edit]Effectively a singles collection with the required similar-sounding new tracks tossed in, Yves Deruyter's debut stuck to the old template of first-time dance artist albums but made up for it with a real ear for sweet and ultra-personal trance anthems. There's always been a hidden dub feel to Deruyter, and here it was used well time and again as the focusing pull of the darker tracks and their breakdowns, such as "Outsiders," a nasty effects-pummeling lifter, which created a satisfyingly intelligent atmosphere throughout. D-Album didn't have the thematic reliability of other upper-level dance LPs, but there was hardly a weak track on here, and even "Feel Free" and "To the Rhythm" still sounded tremendous years later.
