Vocalist Victor Alejandro Garcia Perez was born October 1, 1975, in the city of Tampico, Tamaulipas. Victor's father, Victor Garcia Tenorio, and mother, Juana Elizabeth Perez, report that Victor Jr. sang his first song, "Pimpon," at the young age of eight months. He sang with his younger siblings at family gatherings and at the age of 16 formed a group, called Proyecto Malta, with friends. Two years later that group morphed into a band called Nahum, which won a number of local and regional competitions, eventually landing a gig as the house band for a restaurant in D.F. called Il Canto. In 2002, Garcia found his way onto the popular television competition La Academia. Ultimately placing second, Garcia turned his attention to the release of his debut solo CD, Viccoperez. The record produced such hits as "Otra Vez" (which won him a Billboard Latino nomination), "Mi Funeral," and "Invisible." Selling better than 175,000 copies in Mexico, the record made platinum status. Two years later loyal fans welcomed the release of Loco por Ti, which went gold after only a short time on the market.
