Biography
[Edit]Italian jazz percussionist Alessandro Fabbri started getting involved in the big-band style in 1976 while taking percussion lessons from Gianni and Vittorio Ferrari. At the age of 21, Fabbri participated in a compilation called European Young Jazz Artists, released by Verabra Records. The release was followed by 1984's Streams, while the musician was playing with the Tiziana Ghiglioni sextet. During the '80s, Alessandro Fabbri started writing and arranging for prominent artists such as Massimo Urbani, Kenny Wheeler, and Steve Grossman. At the same time, Fabbri was continuously improving his skills while taking lessons from Frank Malabe and Peter Zeldman at Drummers Collective in New York City. In the 1990s, the artist wrote several educational articles published by an Italian magazine called Percussion. In 1998, Alessandro Fabbri came in first place at the International Barga Jazz Festival.
