With her broad knowledge of the roots of blues, jazz, and classical, and a sharp repertoire of eclectic music, Michaels has become a noteworthy entertainment choice for many of Atlanta's finest social and intimate occasions. Michaels has performed for such notables as Ted Turner, former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, and President of Hyatt Hotels Corporation Darryl Hartley-Leonard. Michaels composition "Winddance" won first place in the New Age/Jazz category of the prestigious Atlanta Songwriter's Association competition. "The Swan" from her CD Rush Hour was released nationally on the album First Flight with a group of ten Atlanta composers known as Palomino Duck. Palomino Duck, along with Michaels, opened for Yanni at Atlanta's Lakewood Amphitheatre.
