Biography
[Edit]The chamber pop sound of Ellie Come Home features Seth Ashley (piano/vocals), Jennifer Johanning (cello/vocals), and Maura Dunst (violin/vocals). Ashley, who's the brainchild behind the project, has also played drums, keyboards, and bass with other artists such as the Kingdom Flying Club, Oh*Yeah, and Kim Chi. He was also the lighting and video director for Grandaddy's 2003 world tour. Upon returning to the Midwest to pursue a master's degree in Columbia, MO, Ashley met Dunst, a journalism student also studying at the University of Missouri, in early 2005. Ellie Come Home were born by summer, making their performance debut as a duo at local venue the Ranch at the end of July. Shortly thereafter, Johanning was added to the group, fleshing out the mini-pop orchestra's baroque stylings. Primary Sources, which also features Matt Range on bass and Joey Hook on drums, marked Ellie Come Home's debut release in fall 2006.
