Beginning in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1998, Generous Maria came to be when the members recorded a demo and managed to get a semi-decent response when it was released in Europe. Inspired to continue, they kept up their live performances and eventually signed to Lunasound to release their debut, Command of the New Rock.
