Jonathan Sprout

Grammy-nominated, Pennsylvania-based singer/songwriter Jonathan Sprout dabbled in mainstream contemporary folk and rock music before shifting his focus to children’s music. Armed with a psychology degree from Bucknell University, Sprout eventually traded in the bars and ski resorts of his early twenties for elementary school classrooms, where he began to build a successful career. In the mid-'90s he began work on his popular American Heroes series, which chronicles the lives of American history’s most notable figures such as Pocahontas, Thomas Jefferson, Neil Armstrong, and Susan B. Anthony. The first installment arrived in 1996, followed by More American Heroes in 2000 and American Heroes #3 in 2008.
