Biography

[Edit]

Production duo Knuckleheadz — Jon Langford (see also Mr. Bishi) and Warren Clarke (also Lab Rats and Weird Science) — hail from Bournemouth, a lively little city on the English South Coast. Both worked there as DJs before hooking up in the mid-'90s and moving to the mecca of dance music — London. Though the scene in the capital has always been kinder to progressive and trance acts, the pair has largely stuck to their first love, hard house, and done well. They have produced several highly popular singles and remixes and performed at top dance venues the world over. Their first notable effort was a double A-side packing the tracks "House Rocca" and "Turn the F*****g Music Up." Released in 1997, it received plenty of acclaim from the media and was included on a plethora of dance compilations, including the popular Tony De Vit Live in Tokyo. After that, work came in thick and fast from some of the most respected names in the business. Their remix of the Pianoheadz's "It's Over" was amongst the highlights of the London club circuit in 1998; British "super DJs" Judge Jules and Pete Tong couldn't get enough of the track. That same year, the Knuckleheadz did themselves no harm at all with the single release "Raise Your Hands." The super DJs spun it, the clubbers dug it, and record store customers bought it. Their next offering — a remix of the popular track "Beatbox" by German star Dial M for Moguai — was not as commercially successful, but a big hit in the clubs and on the legendary Spanish party island of Ibiza. A year later, they were back in the studio applying their remixing skills to the once-popular track "You & Me" by Rhyme Time Productions. In 2000, another original single was in the offing; titled "Upfront," it was released along with the tune "Confusion." A big success in both the shops and clubs, the tune made it onto a variety of popular compilation CDs. The following year, the Knuckleheadz were recruited to remix for Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue.
