La Luz

Shana Cleveland, a multi-talented musician, artist, and writer from the Seattle area, is prolific across many mediums, and as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, she's been an integral part of several rather diverse bands, including the Curious Mystery, which featured a Cowboy Junkies via dream pop kind of sound; Shana Cleveland & the Sandcastles, which spotlighted Cleveland's velvet voice as a late-night crooner; and this band, La Luz, which finds Cleveland (lead guitar), along with Marian Li Pino (drums), Abbey Blackwell (bass), and Alice Sandahl (organ), exploring girl groups and surf music with a lo-fi retro-rockabilly edge. The band released an EP, Damp Face, in 2013, and followed it in the fall of that same year with a full-length, It's Alive.
