No new material was forthcoming until 1991, however, at which time Allen issued both Women's Work and Washington Notebook, the latter a collection of historically themed songs penned in honor of the state's centennial. Six more years passed prior to the release of Lay It Down: Images of the Sacred; The Long Road Home followed in 1999.
