A solo vehicle for Aussie singer/songwriter Mark Monnone, best known as the bass player and co-songwriter for Melbourne-based indie rock veterans the Lucksmiths, Monnone Alone also relies on a rotating cast of talented friends/musicians to deliver its esoteric pop confections. The idea for the band began percolating around 2005, when Monnone started looking for venues to try out new, non-Lucksmiths material. Some of that material made it onto the final Lucksmiths album, 2008's First Frost, while the rest joined up with even newer songs on Monnone Alone's 2011 debut long-player, Pink Earrings. The group's sophomore effort, Together at Last, followed in 2013.
