Noism

Formed in Tokyo, Japan, in 1999, techno-metal duo Noism have specialized in brutal tech-core sounds, even after taking up residence on opposite sides of the planet. Yoshiro Hamazaki (guitars) and Tomoyuki Akiyama (programming) started out with more traditional elements of a band structure, incorporating vocals and basslines into their drum machine-based work, but over time those traditions and structures faded, allowing the pair to branch out into uncharted territory. Live shows and a demo (Brutality and Complexity) appeared in 2000, and over the next five years Noism released a handful of tracks online. For much of the group's career, however, Noism existed in two places at once: in 2002, Tomoyuki moved to the States, but the band carried on, able to record and develop work through technological channels. In 2006, Noism made their first compilation appearance, and were signed by Crucial Blast soon after. In August of 2008, Noism released their first official full length, ±.
