Biography

[Edit]

Singer Perry Danos was born in Chicago, IL, the son of a club owner, and grew up sitting in with acts that played in the club, initially on drums. When he began performing with local bands, he moved to the microphone and became a singer. Session and jingle work in Chicago led to contacts in Nashville, TN, where he relocated in 1995. There he continued to work behind the scenes, as he detailed in his résumé: "Performed with Tony Bennett, Shania Twain, Gretchen Wilson, Donna Summer, Raul Malo, Wayne Newton, Leon Russell, the Four Tops, Buddy Guy, Martina McBride, Johnny Cash, Three Dog Night, Patrick Big Band. Recorded jingles for Disney, Coors, Toyota, Ford, Kodak, Coke, Wrigley Chewing Gum, American Motorsports, Tennessee State Lottery, Southwest Airlines." A key credit in that list is Patrick Big Band, aka the Pat Patrick Orchestra & Show Band, in which Danos served as the singer for ten years, giving him a grounding in swing and vocal jazz. Among his recordings, Danos sings on Leonard Ahlstrom's 2002 holiday gospel album The Christmas Shoes & Other Heart-Warming Stories; sings "Chez Paris" on the 2007 various-artists album Ratatouille: What's Cooking? on Walt Disney Records; sings on Kelly Willard's 2007 gospel album Paga'; contributes background vocals on Susan Wong's 2007 album Someone Like You; and sings "32 Questions" on the 2008 various-artists album This Is My America. Danos signed to GrandVista Music, which released his single "Snap Your Fingers" digitally on April 21, 2009. It was followed by his album of pop and jazz standards Swingin' on the Moon on May 5, 2009.
