Biography
[Edit]Featuring solid and intense rock features, decked by silvery pop rhythms, Pinkston emerged on the Texas rock scene in the late '90s. With a leading trio consisting of Beth Lewis (vocals), Josh Daugherty (guitar), and Ean Parsons (guitar), Pinkston suffered several changes on both the drums and bass sections before the final settlement of the lineup in the spring of 1998. The missing link was provided by Todd Lewis, the Toadies frontman Beth's husband, but also a friend of drums expert Ben Burt. Following a few jam sessions, Burt decidedly became Pinkston's long-awaited drummer. It was by then that Beth Lewis started to learn how to play the bass and the band spent the remaining months of 1998 rehearsing on a series of compositions that had already been conceptualized by Daugherty and Beth. A few months later, the Texas crew did their first concert, obtaining an enthusiastic response. The local music scene became their main action field and soon they were playing on the same stage as Baboon or the Toadies. Signing with Last Beat Records in 1999, Pinkston released their first record that same year. The eponymous Pinkston, an EP featuring five songs, which arrived in February of 2000. The group then continued to do numberless live performances, gaining an always-rising following. Pinkston ultimately entered the studio in April of 2001 to record their first full-length, 2002's All That Causes Bruises.
