Pip Proud

Pip Proud was once an offbeat 60's poet/songwriter, crafting exploratory pop music that came out on Polydor International during the period. But Proud stepped away from music for almost thirty years after that, re-emerging in 1995 with multi-instrumentalist Tom Carter backing him up. Proud put together Catch a Cherub during the next few years, writing and recording even after a stroke robbed him of his sight. Ironically enough, he sings about wanting to be blind on the material written before the stroke, but in good-humored fashion he kept the lyric and continues to sing it live. Releasing the record on Emperor Jones in 2002, Proud hit the road that fall for a tour.
