Biography
[Edit]The all-star jazz group Raydience was assembled by guitarist/vocalist Ronnie Ray Padilla, drawing from current and former members of Tower of Power and Garaj Mahal, as well as musicians who had toured and/or recorded with Carlos Santana, Steve Winwood, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Sergio Mendes, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and the Pointer Sisters. Raydience included Mic Gillette on trumpet and trombone, George Brooks on saxophone, Eric Levy on keyboards, Gary Brown and Kai Eckhardt on bass, Celso Alberti and Billy Johnson on drums, and Kenneth Nash on percussion. The group recorded an album of Padilla's compositions, Raydience, released on January 26, 2010, by Megawave Records.
