Biography
[Edit]Restine Jackson has devoted his entire life to music and God, developing a career for himself as a national gospel artist while still in his early 20s. The Detroit native first began playing piano in his father's church when he was only four years old. He later expanded his musical abilities as a singer, songwriter, producer, composer, choir director, and musician. Given all these talents, it was only a matter of time before Jackson attained major recognition. His first taste of such success came at age 17 when he won a gold medal for musical composition at the NAACP's ACT-SO competition after scoring music for a 30-piece orchestra. He went on to study music education at Morgan State University and perform with the secular rap group Black Nitrogen. Following his graduation, he founded and directed the gospel choir at Sherwood High School in Montgomery County, MD, and is a minister at Greater Grace Temple Church in Capitol Heights, MD. Furthermore, when time permits, Jackson also records albums and performs live, both of which are documented on Praise Party Live in D.C. (2002), an album featuring both studio and live recordings.
