Biography
[Edit]Hank Shocklee, known for his quintessentially East Coast productions (Public Enemy, Slick Rick, LL Cool J) ventured down south to produce the Atlanta collective 9.17 Family. Formed by three groups (Bonafide, Kin, Backhome) plus a pair of solo artists (Yagaboo, Zoe), the crew debuted with a 2001 record (Southern Empire) that merged reggae with Southern bounce.
