Biography
[Edit]Wiesloch, Germany-based ska revival combo the Busters was formed in the spring of 1987 by vocalists Klaus Huber and Markus Sprengler, guitarist Jochen Seiterle, bassist Max Grittner, keyboardist Markus Schramhauser, pianist Stephan Keller, trumpeter Hardy Appich, saxophonists Hans-Jorg Fischer and Peter Quintern, trombonist Robs Gohring, drummer Stefan Breuer and percussionist Jesse Gunther. The group issued its debut LP Ruder Than Rude on the Weserlabel imprint in 1988; the follow-up, Couch Potatoes, featured a pair of collaborations with ska legend Laurel Aitken. After four more LPs for Weserlabel (including a pair of live efforts, 1992's Cheap Thrills and 1995's Live in Montreux), the Busters signed to major label Mambo/Sony Germany for 1996's Stompede; after a hits collection, Boost Best, the band jumped to Moon Ska for 1998's Make a Move! Welcome to Busterland followed in early 2000.
