Biography
[Edit]Formed in 2009 in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Colesville, Maryland, Two Inch Astronaut are a post-punk trio with a sound that recalls classic Dischord Records bands like Fugazi and Jawbox. A blend of strong vocals and crafty, intricate musicianship, bandmembers Sam Rosenberg (vocals/guitar), Daniel Pouridas (bass), and Matt Gatwood (drums) made their debut in September 2010 with the Slip Disco EP, followed a year and a half later by their first album, Red Pancake, Dark Energy. Showing more than a little pop influence, their intelligent songs often boast hooky, melodic choruses amid the angular riffs and shifting rhythms. A split 7" arrived in late 2012 and in the summer of 2013 they delivered their second LP, Bad Brother, earning plenty of critical praise. Dialing in their sound even further, they followed it up just a year later with their third album, Foulbrood.
