Delivering inspiring alternative rock compositions while at the same time flowing in on punk rock's most tricky tunes, Volante makes there own creative way with their elegant and stalwart themes. Comprising a five-piece lineup embodied by drummer Josh Madson, guitarists Jon Mitchell and Jeff Mitchell, and Gabriel Shapiro (vocals, bass), Volante first assembled in 1998 in Minneapolis, MN. Influenced by seemingly different bands like Joy Division and Sunny Day Real Estate, the crew easily began to conquer their own spot within the local underground indie rock scene. After two years constantly playing all across the local club scene, Volante decided on entering the studio to record their first disc. 45 Degrees North, the band's first album, hit record stores in 2001, achieving considerable results and offering the crew even larger recognition beyond their local state area.
