Devin Kelly—Air Force brat. Band nerd. Bookworm. Loner. After the death of her father, she and her mother move to Los Angeles to start a new life. Devin is "welcomed" to her new school by Jason, an arrogant bully who promises to make the rest of her senior year miserable. Things turn around, however, when beautiful, intelligent Melanie Parker, who happens to be Jason’s sister, comes to her rescue. Devin is inspired by her new friend, and for the first time, begins to excel in school and is able to nurture her inherent musical talent. As Devin's and Melanie's relationship grows, Devin finds herself becoming increasingly drawn to her new friend’s vivacious spirit. Devin's newfound confidence is severely tested, however, when Jason's bullying takes a violent turn...and she realizes that her feelings for Melanie are more than platonic.

I dont really read coming out stories to much but i decided to give this book a try and i was not disappointed. The characters are some that you will love your self. Usually books dont make me cry but with this one i had tears streaming down my face during a part of the book. It opens you up to the type of reactions that a lot of kids go through when coming out to their families. This book will be on my reread list and i recommend it to everyone willing to give it a try.

Just remember this is a point of view story from that of the main character. It is not one those stories that switch back and forth on the point of view. The characters are good, and like I said is from the main characters point of view, so you never know what the other people in the story are thinking. It is all perception.

I'm not very good at writing individual reviews because I tend to accidentally give away spoilers and plot points so I

figured I would write out a generic review instead and save myself the time and trouble. If I am putting this review on a

book it means that I found it to be truly exceptional and I enjoyed the journey very much, so thank you to the Author for

putting a great story down on the pages.

This was a pretty well written teen love story. Had some really funny parts. I'm glad that it had more than one dimension to the story as well. I've read quite a few books from this genre and the endings, although very uplifting are always quite predictable. If u enjoy a little drama and a Hollywood ending then you'll like this one.
